The Artists of Coruscate: Introducing…Brixia Bloodbeard!

Brixia Bloodbeard!

BRIXIA is the Latin name of the modern city of BRESCIA (Italy). Hailing from Toronto, Brescia Bloodbeard is an experimental a’capella & music artist, shadow puppet creator, visual artist, and stop motion animator. Brixia has been profiled by Sulong Theatre, the brainchild of Catherine Hernandez, our fabulous Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening!
In Catherine’s Words:
She describes herself as a shadow-puppet & paper cut-out artist, a’capella vocalist and musician, stop motion animator and midwifery student. I describe her as a goddess. If you have had the honour of attending one of her shadow puppetry shows in Dufferin Grove Park, you’d have probably gone home haunted by her vocal prowess and fearless visuals.

About Kaitlin Blanchard

I'm a (queer) theorist, social justice activist, playwright, poet, graduate student, and general advocate that one needn't go very far to better the world for others. I was born in Canada and claim Vancouver as my home with a firm commitment to questioning the ideology of settler-colonialism that allows me to do so. I live and work on the traditional territories of the Haudenosaunee and Mississauga Nations and within the lands protected by the "Dish with One Spoon" wampum agreement.
